Water Discolouration due to BMID Water Supply
Posted: November 4, 2024Black Mountain Irrigation is connecting a new transmission main to their existing Distribution system, which requires a shut down of the Mission Creek water supply. During the construction period, Rutland Waterworks District will be supplying resident of Black Mountain Irrigation District with their source of water.
Due to this change in water supply, customer may experience discoloured water from the minerals that are being circulated and pumped throughout both districts. If you experience discouloration, run your taps on cold water for 10 minutes or until clear. Avoid using hot water until the minerals have passed through. All water quality will continue to meet the Provincial Water Treatment Objectives and the requirement of Interior Health.
The change of water supply is scheduled to start November 4, 2024, for a duration of approximately four weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time.
